My LA Comic Con 2024 Review!

So I figured I’d post my review for my very first LA Comic Con right here. Overall, it was great! The people were nice, the vendors were awesome, and even though I didn’t see most of the events going on, people seemed pretty hype about it. Lots of foot traffic (more than I’ve ever seen at an event this passed year) which was really awesome, and I met some cool people! As you may know, I had a stamp rally with some of my artist friends, and we gave out almost half of the prizes! I hit a few personal sales records and finalyl hit my goal of going to a huge 3-day con! It felt amazing!

Of course, with any great event, there are a few not-so-great things happenign too. The food was TREMENDOUSLY expensive! And what’s worse, they didn’t take cash (not a single one). I caved and purchased some of the food for me and my booth buddy, but paying for one meal was equivalent to paying for parking (which was also expensive, so I did not). Affordable food options and shorter lines would have been amazing. Especially since I’m a snacker. I would have spent that money on the food anyway, but I would have at least felt like I got a little rome out of it. Hungry Dragon is not a happy Dragon, that’s for sure. Havign 2 halls seemed confusing for the guests. There were people that never left the hall they initially started in, so the attention of the attendees was pretty split, which wasn’t great. Loadout was, of course, atrocious. Hundreds of vendors, 2 elevators. If we hadn’t just carried thigns down the stairs, we’d have been stuck there for at least an hour, so I do wish there was a more efficient way to have organized that.

Otherwise, I was really happy with the outcome. There were plenty of thigns to see and do so that you weren’t bored if you came on more than one day, so I’d encourage anyone going next year to spring to for the 3 day pass so you can make sure you don’t miss anything (totally worth is imo). All in all, Dragon Dandy will definitely be back at LA Comic Con again in Sept 2025.

If you attended or vended and you’re seeing this, leave a comment and let me know how your espeerience was! I’d love to hear from you! You can also follow me on Instagram @dragondandy for some video content as well!
